At one point, Rachel turned to her and said, "You know, I was thinking. We should have a cold day. You know, like a reverse of this heatwave. Just one day where it's cool and rainy and we can enjoy the city without feeling like we're going to melt."
She was on her way to meet her friend, Rachel, at a rooftop bar that offered a view of the city. Ava had been looking forward to it all week, but now she wasn't so sure. The heat seemed to be getting to her, making her feel lethargic and irritable.
